Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small pieces of information a browser can store and send with later requests to a website. Local browser storage keeps information for a website in that browser without automatically sending it with requests. Other technologies can cache files or support security. Storage is not always used for tracking; its purpose matters.

What we use today

The BuzCalculator application sets no application cookies. It uses first-party localStorage only to remember a privacy choice you save. We currently have no optional analytics, advertising, behavioral profiling, marketing pixels, optional personalization, third-party embeds or application fingerprinting. We do not use a third-party consent platform.

Ordinary calculator values remain in tab memory, not in privacy preferences. Tire Size and Gas Mileage Cost can export input-containing links when you choose to share; Car Depreciation can share result text. Opening a shared link sends its URL to hosting infrastructure. These voluntary features are separate from tracking and are explained in the Privacy Policy.

Necessary technologies

Website delivery, network connections, HTTPS/TLS, caching, security and abuse prevention support operation of the site. Remembering your privacy choice is also necessary to honor that choice. These functions are always on and cannot be switched off through our optional-category controls. Your browser may separately let you restrict storage or clear site data.

Analytics — currently inactive

Analytics is currently not active. This category is reserved for future optional measurement of how the site is used. No application analytics provider receives your calculator inputs or browsing events from BuzCalculator today.

Advertising — currently inactive

Advertising is currently not active. This category is reserved for future ad delivery, measurement and advertising-related technologies. BuzCalculator does not currently use Google advertising or serve personalized ads.

Personalization — currently inactive

Optional personalization is currently not active. This category would cover optional tailoring of content based on activity or preferences. Calculator inputs and results are ordinary tool functionality and remain available regardless of optional choices.

Cloudflare and infrastructure

Cloudflare provides hosting and delivery, DNS and proxying, caching, performance, HTTPS/TLS and abuse protection. It processes technical request information, including connection details and requested URLs. Network-error reporting headers may cause supporting browsers to send failure reports to Cloudflare. This is infrastructure processing, separate from behavioral advertising or application analytics.

Our checked sessions did not receive infrastructure cookies, but Cloudflare security or traffic-management features may use them depending on configuration and circumstances. Optional-category choices do not disable necessary network or security processing.

Your choices

The first-visit notice offers Accept all, Reject all and Manage preferences. Optional categories start off. Accept all saves all three optional categories as allowed; Reject all saves them as off. Manage preferences lets you choose individual categories and Save preferences. Necessary remains on. Not now dismisses the notice for the current page session without saving a choice; optional processing stays blocked.

All optional technologies are inactive, even if you accept. Choices apply only to the current disclosed policy version. They are not blanket permission for new providers or materially different future processing. We will review the version, disclosures and required consent before activating such changes. You can use every calculator after rejection or without making a choice.

Change or withdraw preferences

Open Cookie Preferences in the global footer at any time. Change the optional categories and select Save preferences. Withdrawal updates the current browser’s preference immediately; connected tabs on the same site receive storage updates. Future integrations must stop processing in a withdrawn category. A browser preference cannot undo information already transmitted, but no optional analytics or ad processing is currently active here.

Preferences are specific to this browser and site, not an account or other devices. Interactive controls need JavaScript; this policy and site content remain readable without it, and optional technologies remain inactive.

How we remember your choice

We use first-party localStorage named buzcalculator.privacy-preferences, scoped to this website’s origin. It stores only necessary: true, your three optional-category choices, the policy version (currently 1) and the time you saved. It contains no visitor ID, fingerprint, email, account, location, calculator input or result. We do not send the record to our server.

The record has no automatic expiry. It remains until you clear site data or replace it with a new choice; your browser may remove it sooner. Clearing it, an invalid record or a different policy version causes the notice to appear again with optional categories off. If storage is unavailable, choices apply in tab memory and may not survive reload. We do not repeatedly ask while a valid saved choice remains.

Future Google publisher advertising

No Google advertising is active. Before introducing it, we will review then-current Google publisher and consent requirements, disclose actual providers and uses, and implement a Google-certified consent platform and IAB Transparency and Consent Framework support where required. Our custom preference controls are not a Google-certified platform and do not establish approval or universal legal compliance.

Policy and consent-version changes

We may update this policy as technologies, providers, analytics, advertising, personalization or legal and policy requirements change. Substantive policy changes update the Last updated date. Material new purposes or vendor usage also require a consent-version review and renewed choices where appropriate. Minor wording corrections alone do not normally require a new choice.
